Lost Bird Found - Mental Health Art Project at the Kirribilli Centre

If you notice an increase in North Sydney’s bird population in October, don’t be alarmed. As part of Mental Health Month, North Sydney Council is running a Community Mental Health Art Project called Lost Bird Found – Mental Health Art Project. Where 2D and 3D birds will pop up all around North Sydney and the finders keepers rule will apply. All birds will have a card attached to them directing the finder to the projects Facebook page. The Facebook page will have more information about the project, links to mental health support services and community activities. Participants are encouraged to upload photos of the birds they have found and engage in conversations around positive mental health.

Where will all these birds come from? We are one of a number of community organisations and groups that are hosting FREE workshops throughout August and September to handcraft these unique birds. These include Stanton Library, North Sydney Community Centre, North Sydney Men's Shed, Monday Art Group, Bradfield Park Carers Program, Partners in Recovery, Planet X Youth Centre and Crows Nest Centre. Other organisations or individuals are welcome and encouraged to participate. The birds will be collected and distributed in local public and community spaces including: libraries, cafes, sporting venues, staff rooms, galleries, shops and more. For Carers and Consumers. RSVP to Bradfield Park.
